2023
The foundations of an iGaming company's platform: the cloud environment, the Kubernetes clusters and the CI/CD pipeline the team's work runs on. Dendora works on it as an external consultant in a Lead R&D Developer and DevOps role, first for Armstrong Operations and for the past few years for its successor. We own the operations side (Kubernetes, Terraform, Helm, Argo CD) and develop in Go: the team's internal tooling and a significant part of the backend.
Challenge
iGaming runs around the clock in a regulated industry: downtime costs money directly, every change has to be traceable, and frequent releases must not put production at risk. A small team had to run all of it without a dedicated ops department.
Solution
The whole environment lives as code: cloud resources in Terraform, services packaged as Helm charts and deployed to Kubernetes through Argo CD, so any change goes through Git and can be rolled back in one step. On top of that we built command-line tools and services that take day-to-day operations off the team.
Outcome
An ongoing engagement since 2023. Every release goes through Git and can be rolled back in one step, and the team can focus on the product instead of routine operations.
Key Features
Infrastructure as Code
The whole cloud environment is described in Terraform: reproducible, reviewable and versioned in Git
GitOps deployments
Helm charts and Argo CD: every release is a Git commit, with automatic sync and one-step rollback
Kubernetes runtime
Backend services run as containers on Kubernetes: isolated, observable and easy to scale
Internal tooling
CLIs and services written in Go that take routine operational work off the team
Backend development
APIs and services built for reliability and traceability under constant load
Data pipelines and dashboards
Real-time data processing and internal reporting dashboards
Ongoing R&D
Development continues with the successor company: new capabilities are prototyped, hardened and shipped to production
